August 2018 saw the first specifically LEGO themed event to be held at Crich Tramway Village in Derbyshire. The Build in Bricks event ran from Sunday the 26th of August to Friday the 31st of August with various activities going on in different parts of the museum site.
On the first two days of the event, Sunday the 26th and Summer Bank Holiday Monday the 27th of August 2018, there were a number of displays of fan built LEGO models in the Great Exhibition Hall with a table of my models among them.
As well as my LEGO model of Blackpool Brush Railcoach 630, which is based on a tram that has been preserved at Crich Tramway Village, I also had on display my San Francisco Cable Car, Tram Ticket Display Frame and two model trams that appeared as part of official LEGO sets. Alongside those were two freelance narrow gauge trains built on OO gauge model railway chassis’ and a warehouse scene. Closer photos of my display are shown below.
More photos showing other aspects of the event can be seen below.

This was where most of the event took place, although there were still the usual things going on at the museum as well as a couple of other LEGO themed activities elsewhere on site.

This is a list of what could be found inside relating to the event. I didn’t get any photos of the other activities, but they included a LEGO racer building challenge and a LEGO themed rock painting activity.
The fan displays were only there on the Sunday and Monday, being replaced with a mosaic build by Fairy Bricks on the Tuesday to Friday in the Victoria Park area of the museum. I missed out on taking photos of this due to only being there for the Sunday and Monday.

The one on the right contained a large variety of DUPLO bricks and the one on the left a huge number of 2 x 4 LEGO bricks. These were provided by Fairy Bricks who also did a mosaic build in the Victoria Park area of the museum from Tuesday to Friday (which I wasn’t there for).

The person whose guess was closest would win the frame complete with the LEGO bricks inside.

During the Sunday, this figure could be found in the Workshop Viewing Gallery. It had moved to the Great Exhibition Hall on the Monday.
